Garlic: more than just flavor


Although its the most tedious piece of food to chop, the benefits are WELL worth it. I am on day 2 of a 3 day food cleanse and one of the things I try to do as much as possible is chop up a clove of garlic into 3-4 pieces and swallow it whole like a pill. It goes down easy and I may burp up garlic for a while (thank goodness I'm in a long distance relationship!), but here's whats happening when I gulp it down raw:

1. Fighting off sickness and disease: garlic was used in the olden days to keep colds and flus at bay during the olden days

2. Fights high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease: 'nuff said

3. Fights inflammation: for belly aches, stiff muscles or auto immune disease

4. Kills bacteria: garlic is proven to kill bacteria such as E. Coli. If you are suffering from a UTI, take raw garlic multiple times a day

5. Cancer fighting enzymes: when you eat RAW garlic and crush it, it activates a enzyme ( allicin) which includes cancer fighting in components

So get to chopping and make sure to take some daily :)
